Knowledge based on scientific conclusions gives spur to innovation and is a key to socioeconomic developments across the globe. Research leads to innovation and the application of research to improve products and the quality of life should be the overreaching goal. Countries that have highly skilled and developed human resources tend to progress rapidly in economic growth. Therefore, innovative research which has wide applications to have beneficial impact on our society is a need of the time.

However, research is not an activity that is carried out in a vacuum. Research is no longer an individual endeavor, but requires a team effort and involves collaboration between institutions and industry. This is where the Office of Research, Innovation, & Commercialization (ORIC) plays a vigorous role in focusing research groups, highlighting discoveries, and connecting researchers with industry.

I am pleased to say that ORIC-MUL focuses on providing a conducive environment to our academicians, researchers, scientists & students through its collaborative arrangements with the industry, funding/sponsoring partners, and national R&D institutions for taking the basic research to next level and to promote and encourage the technology transfer and boost-up the academia-industry linkages.

We believe that research and innovation are the crucial forerunners of a country’s development as they define its pace towards the future in terms of technological growth. Therefore, special focus is going to be directed towards the establishment of technology incubators and entrepreneurial development centers.

With communal efforts of researchers, faculty, dedicated administration, and necessary support of all the Govt bodies, this university of higher learning will, In Sha Allah, emerge as one of the leading institutions of Pakistan and have a long-lasting impact on the development of innovative research and products commercialization.
